ISET's flagship qualification. Six months of intensive, strategy-led study (or twelve part-time) that prepares practitioners to lead event tourism strategy, economic impact analysis, AI adoption, and sustainability transformation at destination and organisational scale. Programme Overview
The PG Diploma bridges the gap between the T2 Certificate (12 weeks, awareness-building) and the T6 Masters (research-intensive). It is designed for professionals on sabbatical, in career transition, or between roles who want a fast, credible postgraduate qualification without stepping away from practice for a year.
You will graduate with an Event IP v1.0 — an original, feasibility-tested event tourism venture concept pitched live to an industry panel — plus a Capstone Applied Project (6,000–8,000 words) defended in a professional viva before an ISET supervisor, partner academic, and industry practitioner.
ISET designs and delivers the specialist curriculum, industry immersion, and research support. The Postgraduate Diploma itself is validated and awarded by an authorised higher education institution — not by ISET directly.
6 Core Modules
Each module carries 10 ECTS-equivalent (20 UK CATS-equivalent) and builds progressively toward strategic implementation competency.
Strategic Event Tourism Management
Lead event tourism strategy development for destinations, organisations, and governments. Culminates in a 4,000-word strategic plan — "A 3-Year Event Tourism Strategy for a Real Destination" — incorporating GETI analysis, portfolio audit, and a governance model.
Economic Impact & Commercial Strategy
Construct defensible economic impact analyses and investment cases, revenue architecture, and sponsorship valuation. Culminates in a 3,500-word revenue strategy and impact forecast, backed by a working Excel financial model.
AI, Data & Digital Intelligence
"AI as Strategic Enabler" — not learning what AI can do (that is T2), but how to lead AI transformation: designing organisational AI adoption roadmaps, building no-code automation workflows, modelling ROI, and evaluating AI vendors. Culminates in a 3,000-word AI implementation roadmap for a real organisation.
Sustainability & Responsible Event Tourism
Build sustainability management systems and net-zero transition pathways. Culminates in a 3,500-word sustainability framework — a net-zero roadmap for a real event, implementing ISO 20121.
Experience Design & Visitor Economy
Architect visitor experiences integrating journey mapping, sensory design, and itinerary planning. Culminates in an experience design portfolio: visitor journey mapping plus venue strategy.
Event IP Development & Venture Strategy
The capstone module. Create, validate, fund, and scale an original event tourism venture — a complete Event IP package with financials, IP protection, and a scaling plan — pitched live to an industry panel.

No examinations. A 50/50 individual–team split — every output is a career-ready professional deliverable.
